Supreme Ski and Snowboard School comes to Morzine

Supreme Ski and Snowboard School, Courchevel established in 1991 and taken over in 2014 by Aaron Tipping and Nick and Olly Robinson is coming to Morzine!

Since the take-over, the school has been successfully re-established in the market, delivering lessons and courses to many happy clients. This has been purely in Courchevel, so this winter we are excited to be opening Supreme Ski and Snowboard School in Morzine.

I am thrilled to be joining the team and starting this new venture in Morzine.

My plan for a little while has been to come ‘home’ to Les Gets/Morzine. Morzine is where I first put on skis as a toddler in the garden of the nursery school.

We’ve all got to start somewhere! Ski scolaire or a Coupe de Jeune – either way, PE lessons were pretty fun in the Alps!

My parents met in Avoriaz over 30 years ago and I am truly the product of a seasonnaire lifestyle. As a child I had a very privileged upbringing, moving every 4-8months between Salcombe, Devon and Avoriaz/Morzine/Les Gets in the French Alps. Schooling was split between the local primary schools in Morzine and Les Gets during the winter term (I was one of the very first British children to attend the local schools!), and Salcombe during the summer and autumn term. At the age of 10, learning the same subjects in two different languages became trickier, so I went to a lovely little boarding school called Hanford, and then on to Sherborne in Dorset. During the school holidays, my brother and I would go to wherever my parents would be working and living.

When I left Newcastle University, with a degree in French and Spanish, I had skied every winter in Les Portes du Soleil, as well as a summer in Argentina teaching skiing in Spanish (to improve my Spanish surely this would be the best way!). Since then I have done three seasons teaching skiing in Saas-Fee and two in Nendaz, both resorts are in Switzerland. This year I travelled to Niseko in Japan to teach, and Queenstown (Coronet Peak) in New Zealand.

I’ve accumulated experience working in different sized ski schools, teaching large groups to small groups, adults, teenagers, children and toddlers, clients from all over the world and in different languages. It’s been incredible!

I’m now ready to come back to where it all began.

Les Portes du Soleil, one of the biggest areas in the French Alps, is an absolutely stunning part of the world. I love it here! Despite visiting many beautiful resorts with magnificent views, there really is no place like home.

The area thrives in summer just as much as in the winter with mountain biking, road cycling, trail running, triathlon… And, however much I am looking forward to a summer (I’m heading into my third winter in a row) I cannot wait to explore all the familiar pistes and mountains across Les Portes du Soleil, particularly in Morzine and Les Gets – the excitement to put on skis again never seems to fade!

Whether it is your first time or you are a regular visitor to the area, enrol in a lesson and I can help you discover this wonderful place in which I grew up, or show you places that you might not yet have discovered. I’ll help you develop ski skills you might think you don’t have, boost your confidence or control your children!

Supreme Ski and Snowboard School offers group lessons for you to learn with others at the same level, adding a different dynamic to the lesson and the ability to follow a course over the duration of your winter holiday. Children can attend suitable group lessons created to encourage the best out of their skiing. Private lessons are also well worth the investment, acquiring one on one tuition and attention to really concentrate on improving your skills.

Fluent in French, I am more than happy to instruct in the language and help you get around the mountain, and maybe even secure that lunch reservation! Supreme Ski and Snowboard School is flexible to move between Les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz, and on to the rest of Les Portes du Soleil.

I can’t wait to welcome you to Morzine. Let’s hope for a snowy winter!
